As soon as you and your loved ones discover that you are pregnant, the first thing to cross your brains is the diet. If there is a baby developing in your womb, it is essential for you to ensure a proper healthy diet.


In some cases, it is seen that people are very protective towards the child right from the very initial stage of pregnancy as a result they start including every other healthy nutritious food item in the diet chart for the mother.


But, one needs to understand that everything which is healthy in the normal course of life is not going to be necessarily healthy for an expecting mother.


When there is a child growing inside your womb, there are a lot of things that you need to keep in mind in that case. It is very important for you as a mother to understand what not to eat when pregnant. There is a whole proper list of many food items which are considered harmful for the health of expecting mothers and sometimes for the health of their babies.



The list of food items not to eat when pregnant-

  • Soft Cheeses – These are generally made with unpasteurized milk and therefore they may lead the mother and the child to bacterial infection. So, one should include all the unpasteurized milk preparations on the list of what not to eat when pregnant.


  • Uncooked or raw or undercooked meat- If you are a hardcore non-vegetarian then you may continue to satisfy your tongue but the meat or the egg or fish be it anything it should be properly cooked. Uncooked, undercooked, or raw non-vegetarian items are something that is counted as something not to eat during the pregnancy period.


  • Raw unpasteurized juice- This is another thing you should strike out of your diet plan if it is still included there. Again here also it will be the same case just as it was with the milk anything raw or not pasteurized can lead to severe infections and such situations are just not affordable in the scenario of a pregnancy.
